I bought 'Tales of the Covenanters' (Dane Love) on a visit to Glasgow this year (2003) just because it looked interesting, and something I knew very little about. It was totally absorbing, learning of the devotion of strength of faith of the Covenanters to their church & beliefs, and unimaginable persecution of them. The website is a great link to the past. Please keep up the good work. I want information on joining sent to me to help. On my visit I found - purely by accident - the martyrs monument to James Nisbet, James Wood & Alexander Lawson outside the (new) Martyrs Church Townhead Glasgow where I was christened, and which monument used to be mounted on the Cartlton Cinema in Townhead's castle Street, then later placed under the new Motorway at Townhead interchange. i found your site facinating.my family have a close friendship of the late Rev. Jock Purvis who wrote books about the covenanters including "fair sunshine".i feel its an important part of Scottish history which is not part of todays educational corriculum. i was told stories by Rev, Purvis since i was a child and love them all. i am a keen walker and would love to visit more Gravestones and memorials. Can you let me know where to buy your CD.

this is an excellent site which I will visit again. It's easy to navigate and has some wonderful pictures. My ancestors (Name McKersie were (tenant) farmers in East Glenbuck and other farms between 1850 and 1890. I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who is researching Johnstones or McKersies in that area.

Hi Robert, great to see you! Or some of you anyway. I didn't think I could leave a message, the Guest Book Icon is barely visible on my screen, but I just tried a wee click and here it is. I see that a McAughtrie person has left a message recently, after all those funny ones. I am going to have to email her. I also saw a Watson person leaving a message. I am about to publish a new wee website myself - of course I will have a link to your site on there. I will let you know when it is up and running. Warm regards to you and the family. Jeanne
